Thomas H Handy Antique Collection 2018 Edition Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey 6 Year Old · 2012 Vintage
In stock
Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey is a powerful straight rye from Buffalo Trace Distillery, distilled in the spring of 2012 and released in the fall of 2018. Bottled unfiltered at 128.8 proof, this edition was drawn from 73 hand-picked barrels and aged for 6 years and 4 months in new white oak with a #4 char. Matured across Warehouses I and L on the 3rd and 6th floors, it delivers the kind of bold, full-bodied style that has made Thomas H. Handy one of the standout names in the Antique Collection.
The mash bill is led by Minnesota rye, supported by Kentucky corn and North Dakota malted barley, giving the whiskey both spice and weight. That combination comes through clearly in the profile, where allspice, teaberry and clove sit at the centre of the experience. With its uncut strength, traditional sour mash production and carefully selected barrels, this is a particularly intense and characterful release, balancing dark spice, structure and richness in a way that feels unmistakably Thomas H. Handy.
