Thomas H Handy Antique Collection 2019 Edition Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey 6 Year Old · 2013 Vintage
In stock
Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey is one of Buffalo Trace Distillery’s best-known straight rye releases, distilled in the spring of 2013 and bottled in the fall of 2019. Released unfiltered at 125.7 proof, this edition was matured for 6 years and 2 months in new white oak barrels with a #4 char, giving it the bold, full-bodied style that has made Thomas H. Handy such a standout in the Antique Collection. Matured across Warehouses N, M and K on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors, it delivers plenty of intensity, but with a profile that balances richness, sweetness and spice particularly well.
The recipe is built around Minnesota rye, supported by Kentucky corn and North Dakota malted barley, giving the whiskey both structure and depth. That comes through clearly in the glass, where crème brûlée, spearmint and a gentle floral note open on the nose before the palate moves into creamy butterscotch and vanilla. The finish is long and warming, with baking spices, chocolate and a hint of cedar giving the whiskey real length and character.
