Open, inviting nose of toasted spice and black pepper, unfolding with tobacco leaf and dried cherry. Wisps of smoke mingle with caramel sweetness as oak and vanilla rise in the glass, hinting at the high-rye mash and cask-strength depth.
Palate
Bold, spicy palate with tobacco and pepper warmth, complemented by dried cherry and smoke. Rich caramel sweetness coats the tongue, yielding a full-bodied, velvety mouthfeel; finish ranges from dry to sweet depending on the barrel.
Finish
Spicy, tobacco-forward heat lingers with peppery bite, followed by hints of dried cherry, smoke and caramel. Barrel-to-barrel finishes range from dry, tannic notes to a sweeter, caramel-kissed tail, leaving a long, warming finish that persists at cask strength.
