A highly sought after limited edition bottling of Rye whiskey from Smooth Ambler's Old Scout range. Bottled at cask strength (118.6 proof), this bold and punchy Rye was matured in a single cask for a minimum of 10 years. Initially rich and sweet, the high rye content and robust alcohol content are apparant from the mid palate through to the finish with masses of spice, menthol and dark chocolate.

A touch of sweetness leads to big spice. A bit of menthol on the nose with hints of honey and brine. Heat related to the cask strength, but still easy to drink. Maybe a touch of water helps here for some. Mashbill: 95% rye, 5% malt
Aging: A minimum of 10 years, non-chill filtered.

Full-bodied and oily, a warm cask-strength punch on the palate. A soft honey sweetness opens to a bold rye tapestry of pepper, clove and cinnamon, lifted by menthol coolness. Mid-palate reveals honey-brine and dark chocolate, building to a long, bracing finish that lingers with spicy, nuanced warmth.
Finish
Long, assertive finish dominated by ripe rye spice, a cooling menthol thread, and dark chocolate bitters. The cask-strength heat lingers, slowly fading to a warm, honeyed echo that leaves the palate coated in spice and cocoa.
