Highland Park Montgomerie's Single Cask #33 Whisky 21 Year Old · 1994 Vintage
Out of stock
A very reasonably priced indie bottling of Highland Park single malt. Often overlooked in Angus Dundee's portfolio for the better known Mackillops Choice, this is a Montgomerie's bottling of single malt Scotch whisky from the distillery on Orkney. Matured in a single cask (#33, if you were wondering) from February 1994 to February 2015. It was then bottled as part of their Rare Select range.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with coppery highlights and a warm honey-gold glow.
Nose
Elegant maritime nose with heather honey and vanilla guiding a gentle peat whisper. Dried fruits and fig mingle with toasted almond and cocoa, brightened by orange zest and a touch of cinnamon. Sherry influence adds silky nutmeg and oak, while sea spray and a faint iodine keep it fresh and mineral, revealing Highland Park’s character in a refined, age-worthy aroma.
Palate
Silky and maritime, this opens with velvety sherry sweetness—dark fruit, cocoa and caramel—braided with honeyed citrus. A gentle peat smoke lingers while almond, wood spice and a kiss of leather deepen the profile. The finish is long and polished, with ginger, clove, and a resinous warmth that echoes the cask.
Finish
Long, elegant finish with citrus zest and dark toffee shaping a delicate peat whisper. Sherried sweetness lingers around dried fig and almond, unfolding into cocoa, ginger spice, and a touch of maritime salt. The oak and resin leave a warm, honeyed glow that slowly fades into a final whisper of smoke.
