Bottled by Duncan Taylor for The Octave collection, this GlenAllachie was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2026 at 17 years old. Drawn from single Pedro Ximénez octave cask #3050994, it was bottled at 55.3% ABV with an exceptionally limited outturn of just 87 bottles.
The small PX-seasoned octave cask adds concentrated layers of dried fruit, dark sweetness and warming spice to GlenAllachie’s rich Speyside character. Raisins, figs and treacle combine with chocolate, roasted nuts and seasoned oak, creating a powerful single-cask whisky with considerable depth and a long, sherried finish.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, dark amber with coppery highlights and mahogany-tinged edges.
Nose
Opulent PX sherry aromas rise from the glass, laden with raisin, fig jam and prune, entwined with dark date and a whisper of orange zest. Rich molasses and cocoa drift beside milk chocolate, espresso and toasted almond, all wrapped in tawny oak, vanilla and spice. A warm, velvety sweetness lingers, with leather and caramel-sugar nuance—luxuriously inviting.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and opulent, the palate unveils dark fruit with PX sweetness heavy on raisin, fig and date. Molasses, cacao and espresso deepen the mid-palate, while leather and toasted almond add complexity. Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg stitch spice into the finish as warm oak lingers, leaving a long, dessert-like finale.
Finish
Long, velvety PX finish where raisin, prune and fig sweetness lingers, wrapped in dark chocolate and orange zest. Toasted oak and subtle spice—cinnamon and clove—bring warmth, slowly fading into a richly dessert-like glow.
