Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, burnished amber with mahogany undertones and a warm coppery glow.
Nose
Opulent nose of sun-warmed sultanas and tropical pineapple, wafting with dark chocolate. Layered with Christmas cake, marmalade and sweet spices, all carried on a rich sherry backbone from PX and oloroso casks, with vanilla and toasted oak.
Palate
Rich and velvety on the palate, this 25-year GlenAllachie unfurls with sultana and dried pineapple, deepened by dark chocolate and marmalade. Sherried sweetness blends with toasted spice, orange zest and a satin-soft oak backbone from PX, oloroso and American casks. A long, warming finish layers fruitcake, candied peel and a whisper of spice.
Finish
An exceptionally long, velvety finish that lingers with wine-dark fruit and spice. Sultanas and marmalade drift into dark chocolate and Christmas cake, while orange rind and warm oak echo from the Pedro Ximénez and oloroso casks. The finish coats the palate with a syrupy, slightly spicy warmth that invites another measured sip.
