Distilled on 12 November 2007 and bottled in February 2021 at 59.6% ABV, this 13-year-old GlenAllachie was drawn from a single virgin oak barrel (cask #6871) and yielded 272 bottles. It formed part of a batch of UK-exclusive single casks released by the distillery under master distiller Billy Walker.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber-gold with coppery-bronze highlights and a warm, sunlit glow.

Nose

Vanilla anchors the aroma, intertwined with ripe plantains and apricots, brightened by orange peel and warmed by ginger and nutmeg.

Palate

Layers of heather honey, treacle and figs mingle with orange zest, cinnamon and nutmeg on the palate.

Finish

Long, warm finish dominated by vanilla and toasted oak, with orange zest and ginger spice lingering on the palate. Notes of treacle, fig and honey fade into cinnamon and nutmeg, leaving a subtly charred, oak-imprinted sweetness that persists.

(glen-AL-a-key) Built in 1967 near Aberlour, it spent much of its life producing whisky for blends rather than building a big name as a single malt in its own right. That changed in 2017, when Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson bought the distillery and began reshaping it around a more flavour-led, hands-on vision.
