Distilled on 14 July 2010 and bottled in 2021 at 59.9% ABV, this 11-year-old Dailuaine was released as part of the Fable Whisky – Moon Chapter 3 series. It was drawn from a single hogshead (cask #308827) and bottled at natural cask strength.
The Fable series presents whiskies alongside an illustrated story – in this chapter, “The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay – Moon” – with each release drawn from a single cask to highlight the character of the distillery.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gilded edges and a honeyed, sunlit glow.
Nose
Barley sugars mingle with citrus, peach and tropical pineapple, brightened by crisp green apple. Buttered burnt toast adds a warm, toasty layer, while a gentle cinnamon spice threads through the aroma.
Palate
Big vanilla sweetness anchors the palate, joined by toasted malt, toasted wood spices and allspice, with honey and a whisper of beeswax; a subtle mineral-earthiness adds depth. Thick, creamy mouthfeel carries apples, while water brings green grass freshness and hints of unripened green fruit.
Finish
Sweet red apples and honey meet a waxy, cereal-tinged core, with vanilla and a touch of coconut. Beeswax lingers into peppery spice, while grapefruit adds a bright sour-bitter counterpoint for a light, persistent finish.
