Distilled on 15 October 1975 and bottled in December 2020 at 47.9% ABV, this 45-year-old Convalmore was drawn from a refill American oak hogshead (cask #2563) for Gordon & MacPhail’s prestigious Private Collection series and yielded 148 bottles.
Convalmore is one of Speyside’s lost distilleries, having closed in 1985, and mature examples are now increasingly rare. Long ageing in refill American oak allows the spirit’s natural character to shine while slowly developing complexity over decades in wood.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Golden amber with a warm, sun-lit glow and subtle copper highlights; a refined, mature hue shaped by decades in refill American oak.
Nose
Bright citrus aromas of lemon and lime mingle with sweet desiccated coconut. White chocolate notes emerge, complemented by soft dark honey and nougat, delivering a creamy, confectionery warmth to the bouquet.
Palate
Sweet honeycomb flavours combine with soft apple crumble. Vibrant fruity pears and peaches give way to mature oak.
Finish
A medium, sweet finish with lingering toasted hazelnuts.
