Convalmore (silent) Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection Single Cask #154 Whisky 38 Year Old · 1982 Vintage
In stock
A single cask Convalmore bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Private Collection series, this 38 year old was distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2020 from cask number 154 at a natural cask strength of 54.9% ABV. Matured in American oak and limited to 109 bottles, it comes from this now-closed Speyside distillery.
Long maturation in American oak brings soft vanilla sweetness, gentle spice and refined oak influence, complementing Convalmore’s traditionally light, grassy and fruit-forward character. Bottlings from this silent distillery are increasingly scarce, offering a rare glimpse of a Speyside style no longer in production.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep golden amber with honeyed warmth and a coppery glow.
Nose
Soft vanilla sweetness from years in American oak, with refined spice and a subtle oak backbone. The nose is light and grassy, opening to fruit-forward notes of green apple and pear, touched by citrus zest. A delicate honeyed edge, with a whisper of almond, lingers into the finish.
Palate
Silky palate of vanilla sweetness and cream, enriched by gentle spice from long maturation in American oak. White pepper and nutmeg weave with a refined oak backbone, supporting Convalmore’s light grassy character and fruit-forward notes of green apple and pear. At cask strength, a citrus zest lift threads through, ending in a polished, lingering finish.
Finish
An extended, warming finish where soft vanilla and creamy oak linger, threaded with gentle spice.
