Matured for four decades in a refill sherry puncheon (cask #1155), the cask yielded 202 bottles at a natural 51.5% ABV, showcasing the remarkable depth that long ageing can bring to this classic Orkney spirit.
Highland Park Distillery, founded in 1798 in Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands, is one of Scotland’s most northerly distilleries. Its whisky is renowned for a distinctive balance of heather honey sweetness, gentle peat smoke and rich fruit, with the island’s maritime climate playing an important role in the slow maturation of its spirit.
