Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whisky 54 Year Old · 1968 Vintage
In stock
With just 225 bottles made to celebrate the 225th anniversary of Highland Park, this whisky represents nearly a quarter of our distillery’s lifespan.
Originally laid down in 1968, 4 refill butts and 6 refill hogsheads of exceptional quality were combined in 2008 and tipped into a series of first-fill sherry casks, where the whisky continues to mature today.
After another 14 years of maturation, this European oak sherry butt has produced a whisky with a deep, rich colour and wonderful intensity.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, rich amber with mahogany depth and a coppery glow.
Nose
A luxurious sherried bouquet of dark fruit—fig, date and raisin—woven with toffee, orange zest and toasted almond. Subtle peat smoke lingers while polished oak, cocoa and leather lend depth to a deeply mature, opulent nose.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied on the palate, this 54-year-old unfurls layers of dark fruit, toffee and roasted nut from first-fill sherry, entwined with a gentle peat and maritime edge. Figs, raisins and cocoa deepen into velvety spice—cinnamon and clove—while almond and oak lend structure. A long, luxurious finish blends sweetness with tobacco and resinous smoke.
Finish
Long and luxurious, the finish reveals dark fig and toffee tempered by polished oak and a whisper of peat. Sherry sweetness lingers, evolving into spice and cocoa, before fading to a warm, elegant echo of oak.
