This excellent 35 year old Orkney Isles single malt was initially matured in four American oak Bourbon hogsheads, then spent its final 11 months in European oak hogsheads. These hogsheads yielded only 625 bottles, making this an extremely limited release.
Each bottle is hand-numbered and comes with a signed certificate from master whisky maker, Gordon Motion.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich golden amber with warm copper undertones, a sun-brushed, honeyed glow.
Nose
Coastal honey, vanilla and toffee rise with a gentle peat kiss. Orchard fruit blends with waxy oak and a whisper of sea-salt and citrus zest. European oak introduces spice—cinnamon and clove—while bourbon-derived sweetness lingers in the background. Refined, maritime, and quintessentially Orkney.
Palate
Silky and balanced, the palate reveals honeyed orchard fruit and vanilla from the bourbon maturation, tempered by refined peat. European oak adds spice—cinnamon and clove—alongside coastal salt and elegant tannins, finishing long with a warm, smoky echo.
Finish
A long, refined finish that lingers with warm spice and toasted oak. Honeyed sweetness gives way to dried citrus and orchard fruit, while soft, peppery oak and a hint of peat-smoke carry through, slowly dissolving into vanilla and clove. Elegant, persistent, and beautifully balanced.
