Highland Park's redesigned 40 year old Single Malt, released as a Limited batch. Needless to say this falls firmly in the rare and highly collectable bracket!
Created by Highland Park's master whisky maker, Gordon Motion, this whisky is based around five refill casks that were originally laid down before 1979. These were brought together in 2008 and filled into first-fill sherry seasoned casks to add depth of character and layers of richness over a further ten years of maturation.
Soft berry fruits and dark chocolate harmonised with notes of silky vanilla, sun-dried orange zest and a warming hint of freshly grated nutmeg. Fully rounded, with a long finish carrying waves of aromatic smoke from Orkney’s unique heathery peat.
