Distilled in 1981 and bottled in 2023 at 46.7% ABV, this long-matured Highland single malt was drawn from a refill sherry hogshead (cask #804) for Gordon & MacPhail’s Private Collection / Recollection Series and yielded 124 bottles.
Lochside distillery closed in 1992 and was later demolished, making single malts from this source very rare and sought after.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and a mahogany tinge.
Nose
Rich stewed fruit aromas mingle with Medjool dates and citrus peel. Pressed apple and sultanas unfold, with a delicate trail of aniseed.
Palate
Silky, citrus-forward palate with Seville orange taking the lead, giving way to baked apple and a whisper of aged leather. Toasted almond notes emerge and mingle with subtle herbal influences, creating a refined, lingering finish.
Finish
Medium-bodied and persistent, the finish lingers with a refined nut ensemble—almond, walnut and hazelnut—interlaced with warming spice, leaving a subtle, lingering echo on the palate.
