Tasting Notes
Colour
Radiant golden amber with sunlit honey tones and subtle copper glints.
Nose
Silky and inviting, this opens with vanilla and honey threaded through polished oak. Bright citrus zest and orchard fruit mingle with toffee, almond, and a touch of spice. The refill Hanyu cask adds a refined, waxy sheen and a warm incense-like undertone, evoking quiet libraries and finely aged Japanese oak.
Palate
Opulent, full-bodied and warming, this Chichibu pours with dark fruit depth—prune and fig—brightened by orange zest and honeyed malt. Refined oak from the refill Hanyu cask adds vanilla, cedar and subtle resin, while spice notes of cinnamon, clove and white pepper build toward the mid-palate. At 61.5% ABV, the finish is long and chocolatey, with a toasted, oak-woven afterglow.
Finish
Long and refined, the finish lingers with honeyed citrus, almond, and vanilla, layered over polished oak spice drawn from the refill Hanyu cask. Hints of cedar and resin mingle with a gentle peppery warmth, leaving a delicate smoky drift that fades to a bright, fruit-driven memory.
