Tasting Notes

Colour

Sun-kissed amber with honey-gold depth and coppery highlights.

Nose

Honey and vanilla rise to the fore, a warm, creamy sweetness from the Bourbon oak. Soft toasty notes support the bouquet, inviting a gentle, comforting aroma.

Palate

Spicy notes unfold on the palate, with a touch of red fruits from the sherry cask, delivering warm depth and a lingering pepper-kissed finish.

Finish

Lingering finish with light orange flower and pepper.

Cardrona
Cardrona was founded by Desiree Reid, who began studying distillation in 2011 before selling her farming business and moving to Wānaka in 2013. The distillery was built in the Cardrona Valley, in New Zealand’s Crown Range, with the first spirit running on 23 October 2015 and the first cask laid on 5 November that year.
