This is a fascinatingly complex Whisky. Distilled at Caol Ila in 2007, the malt was allowed to develop in character for 15 years before being bottled at cask strength. There is warming concoction medicinal notes; lapsang souchong, spiced blackcurrant and liquorice.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with burnished copper highlights and a warm mahogany edge.
Nose
Medicinal notes fuse with liquorice and herbs, while tar soap and coal lend a soot-tinted backbone. Alluring wood smoke swirls over the profile, with a subtle herbal-spiced sweetness threading through for a lingering, atmospheric aroma.
Palate
Fresh and herbal, with rubbed peppermint leaves and stemmy, damp grass, underscored by smoky notes. Oily in texture, carrying cigar leaves and smoked ham.
Finish
Long, peppery and spicy warmth lingers, with a wispy trail of smoke that coats the palate and slowly ebbs into a warm, resinous finish.
