The 5th batch of Caol Ila from TBWC. An enjoyably complex and expressive nose on this one. There's the expected earthy and coastal notes, peat, seawater, damp grass, but also an inherently fruity side with berry, damson and nectarine. Just a hint of sweetness too. The fruity element contines on the front of the palate with sultanas and marmalade before a savoury and woody element come into focus. Ashey smoke and a slight charred nuttiness are present on the back. The finish is rich and smokey.

Palate
Fruity on the palate, with sultanas and marmalade giving way to a savoury, woody core. Ashy smoke lingers, accompanied by a touch of charred nuttiness, culminating in a rich, coastal finish that remains distinctly smoky.

Long, rich, and smoky, with lingering ash and a touch of charred nuttiness that slowly fades into a soft coastal warmth.
