A beautifully balanced wine cask finished released from Gordon & Macphail from the Caol Ila distillery (the largest on Islay and often overlooked) 33 months in Sassicaia red wine casks from Tuscany in Italy ( A wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes and bottles often retail for well over £100 a bottle!).

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with coppery undertones and a subtle ruby glow, hinting at its Sassicaia red wine cask finish.
Nose
Raspberry ripple ice cream cones on a fishing trawler off the Islay coast, wet leather, red berries galore with a sooty white-pepper edge, anise, smoked redcurrant jelly, and earthy peat with a floral violet/rose petal tinge.
Palate
Dried raspberry and strawberry ride a spine of white pepper, with fruity liquorice and dry red-wine tannins. Crunchy cranberry and redcurrant jelly echo through smoked rose Turkish delight, a touch of sweet chilli heat, and a rosemary herbal lift.
Finish
Sooty, white-pepper smoke lingers with smoked red berries, edged by spicy red-wine oak and anise. Earthy herbs ride the peat as the finish unfolds—long, warm, and thoroughly rewarding.
