Aged for 12 years in Bourbon barrels and offers a sweet and spicy style, pale gold in colour with a long and smoky finish.
I much prefer this to the official bottle of Caol Ila 12yo, less oily and the green olive notes are replaced by a great balance of smoke-spice-green fruit & veg & toasted oak.
Highly reccomended for fans of a less medicinal style of Islay.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Pale gold, a soft sun-kissed hue with a warm, luminous glow.
Nose
Bavarian smoked sausage and coastal barbecue smoke mingle with peppery citrus, an oil slick in gristed barley, touches of toasted spices—clove and vanilla pods—leather and nut shells.
Palate
Peppery lime over salty barley in an oily, grist‑y body, tempered by spicy peat smoke. Earthy clove oil, singed straw and green herbs mingle with charred peppers and smoked salami for a savory, lingering finish.
Finish
Salted lime pickle and smoked green peppers open the finish, followed by dry clove spice. An oily, peppery mouthfeel lingers, with whispers of more smoked meat.
