Golden amber with a warm, sunlit glow and a hint of honeyed copper.

Nose

Honey-cured meat glistens with caramelized brown sugar, mingling with toffee apple. As it opens, grassy notes emerge, blossoming into heather, with a faint herbal edge.

Palate

Perfectly balanced between sweet and savoury, white pepper leads to creamy vanilla and sugared red apples, with grassy undertones lingering.

Finish

Fruity notes harmonise with lingering smoky notes, leaving a long, elegant finish where orchard sweetness meets a gentle peat echo and a subtle vanilla warmth.

Caol Ila
(kowel-EEL-ah) Caol Ila was founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson near Port Askaig on Islay’s east coast, overlooking the Sound of Islay between Islay and Jura. Its Gaelic name refers to that stretch of water, and the site was chosen with access to sea transport and a water supply from Loch nam Ban. Ownership changed early, passing to Norman Buchanan in 1854 and then to Bulloch Lade & Co in 1863.
