Buffalo Trace O.F.C. Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 2006 Vintage
In stock
Distilled in 2006 and aged for nearly two decades at the legendary Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, this vintage release pays homage to the distillery’s original name, the Old Fashioned Copper (O.F.C.) Distillery. Presented in a hand-cut crystal decanter and housed in an elegant display case, this release is as visually striking as it is refined. The 2006 Vintage stands not only as a bourbon of remarkable depth and balance, but as a tribute to patience, craftsmanship, and the enduring legacy of American whiskey making.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished copper.
Nose
Elegant and deeply layered. Initial aromas of dark cherry compote and caramelised brown sugar rise from the glass, followed by waves of vanilla bean and toasted oak. As it opens, more mature notes emerge; leather-bound books, pipe tobacco, and a gentle hint of cocoa powder. There’s a polished warmth to the aromatics, with subtle baking spice and a faint trace of orange peel adding brightness.
Palate
Silky and composed, with remarkable balance. Rich toffee and maple syrup coat the mouth first, evolving into flavours of dried fig, black cherry, and dark chocolate. The oak influence is pronounced yet refined; seasoned wood, clove, and cinnamon woven seamlessly into the sweetness. Mid-palate, a touch of roasted nut and faint espresso lends depth and structure without overwhelming the bourbon’s natural richness.
Finish
Long and warming. The sweetness gradually recedes, leaving behind lingering notes of charred oak, soft leather, and cocoa nib. A gentle spice fades slowly into a dry oakiness.
