Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep, burnished amber with mahogany undertones and a coppery edge, a luminous glow that hints at sherry maturity and quiet power.
Nose
Razor-sharp peat and sea-salt rise from the glass, paired with waxy vanilla and treacle. Briny air and maritime iodine mingle with a whisper of kelp, while rich sherry-cask fruit—figs, raisins, dark chocolate—layer in. A refined leather note completes the profile. The aroma is coastal, austere, and hypnotic, a lacquered smokiness that hints at age and Brora’s legendary terroir.
Palate
On the palate, Brora's peat roars with coastal salt, tempered by luxuriant sherry sweetness. Full-bodied and velvety, with dark chocolate, fig, and treacle, plus waxy citrus, vanilla, and toasted oak. A warming, opulent assault that lingers with smoky iodine, mineral brine, and a long, refined finish.
Finish
Long, maritime finish of saline peat and coastal smoke, laced with refined sherry sweetness. Warming notes of cocoa, dried fig and polished oak unfold, then slowly recede into a resinous, smoke-tinted tail that lingers with regal restraint.
