About Cu Bocan
(koo BOH-kan) Cù Bòcan is Tomatin’s lightly peated Highland single malt, launched in 2013 after the distillery recognised the quality of the peated spirit it had been producing for one week each year since 2005. Named after a ghost dog said to haunt the village of Tomatin, it is made with lightly peated Scottish barley and distilled every winter in limited batches, creating a style built around subtle smoke and balanced sweetness rather than heavy peat.
The range has been shaped by unusual cask maturation from the beginning, giving Cù Bòcan a distinct identity alongside Tomatin’s classic unpeated style. The current line-up includes Signature, 12 Year Old Batch #1 and 15 Year Old expressions, while the Creation series has explored a wide variety of finishes and limited-edition releases. Natural colour and non-chill filtration also remain part of the presentation, reinforcing the brand’s more modern, flavour-led approach to lightly peated Highland whisky.
