Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with a warm copper glow and a whisper of mahogany at the rim.
Nose
Warm vanilla and caramel cradle lush orchard fruit—pear and green apple—with a citrus lift. Beneath, gentle oak spice—cinnamon and clove—emerges, joined by honeyed wax and almond. A subtle coconut echo hints at the cask, finishing in a refined, inviting sweetness.
Palate
Full-bodied and decadently silky, this Benrinnes delivers generous vanilla and honeyed oak from American hogshead, with zesty citrus, baked apple and dried apricot. Spices unfold—cinnamon, nutmeg, white pepper—leading to a warm, chewy mid-palate. Rich yet balanced by lively acidity; at 59% ABV it reveals a slow, lingering flame of oak and fruit.
Finish
Long and warming, the finish unfurls with spiced oak and a hint of cask sweetness. Dried orange and toffee mingle with vanilla, slowly fading into cocoa and toasted almond, leaving a polished, lingering warmth on the palate.
