The brand new 10 year old release from The Benriach. Bottled at 43%, natural colour (as it should be) and non-chill filtered this is a fresh Speyside whisky and a brilliant value for money whisky and a perfect introduction to The Benriach range.

A spicier and more caramelised orchard fruit led replacement for the lighter and more elegant 12 year old but this is fantastic value for money and easily one of the best sub £40 single malts on the market.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Apple pie, ginger toffeee, banana maltshake, poached pears, rich barley sugar, dusting of aromatic spices, creamy and nutty.

Palate

Tinned peaches in toffee sauce, spiced dark chocolate, toasted vanilla, peppery anise, stewed apple and pear with cinnamon & clove.

Finish

Bananas in butterscotch, toasted oak, vanilla, apricot, apple, nutty praline, buttery oak.

Benriach
(ben-REE-ach) Benriach was founded in 1898 by John Duff beside Longmorn, south of Elgin in Speyside. It opened during the late Victorian whisky boom but was forced to stop distilling in 1900 after the Pattison Crash, leaving the site silent for decades while its floor maltings continued to supply neighbouring Longmorn. Production finally resumed in 1965, bringing Benriach back after one of the longest silent periods in Speyside.
