Tasting Notes
Colour
Burnished amber-gold with coppery highlights and a warm, honeyed glow.
Nose
Concentrated oak-forward aroma from virgin oak: toasted vanilla and coconut mingle with ripe orchard fruits—apple and pear—under a warm blanket of spice. Rich malt sweetness entwines with cedar and sandalwood, while hints of clove, nutmeg and cinnamon add structure. A bold, cask-strength bouquet that promises depth and fruit-driven complexity.
Palate
Bold and vibrant at cask strength, this Benriach coats the palate with a creamy malt backbone and toasted sweetness. Orchard fruits—pear and apple—shine beneath a spicy profile of cinnamon, clove and ginger, amplified by virgin oak. The oak lends structure and resinous depth, while a vanilla, cocoa-edged finish lingers with fruity warmth and a final kiss of spice.
Finish
Long, warm finish anchored by virgin oak: toasted vanilla, cinnamon spice and oak resin linger with ripe fruit notes, a subtle peppery lift riding through the depth. The richness fades slowly to a silky, lingering warmth, leaving a refined, oaked sweetness that persists.
