Cask Strength
On the nose there are aromas of vanilla wafers, raspberry, red licorice and peppermint. The flavours are fresh on the palate, with eucalyptus and menthol. This becomes syrupy, with melted chocolate and brasil nuts. The finish has a lasting freshness, with cocoa, peppermint and spice.
(ben-REE-ach) Benriach was founded in 1898 by John Duff beside Longmorn, south of Elgin in Speyside. It opened during the late Victorian whisky boom but was forced to stop distilling in 1900 after the Pattison Crash, leaving the site silent for decades while its floor maltings continued to supply neighbouring Longmorn. Production finally resumed in 1965, bringing Benriach back after one of the longest silent periods in Speyside.
