A long discontinued 10 year old release but which tastes more like an 18 year old and was one of their best ever bottles released. This has since been replaced by the 12 year old Signature series and is now almost impossible to obtain, except of course from us here at HTFW where it comes and goes very quickly.

Colour
Golden honey with a warm amber glow.
Nose
Sherry-soaked warmth with dried apricots, raisins and fig, unfolding over honeyed apples and pears. Soft vanilla and almond mingle with cinnamon spice, toasted oak, and a whisper of cacao, creating a creamy, elegant perfume.
Palate
Silky and full on the palate, Balvenie Founders Reserve delivers a creamy, honeyed breadth with sherry-cask depth. Dried apricot, fig and raisin unfold against toffee, vanilla and almond, lifted by gentle spice and a whisper of oak. The texture is luxuriant and smooth, with a soft sweetness that carries through a long, warming finish of orchard fruit, nutmeg and polished wood.
Finish
Silky and long, the finish glides with honeyed sherry sweetness, dried fruits, and a whisper of spice. Toasted oak frames the sweetness as the warmth lingers, slowly fading into a refined, velvety chocolate-tinged finish.
