Colour

Deep, honeyed amber with coppery sheen and mahogany undertones.

Nose

Stewed pear and apple notes rise from the glass, entwined with baked crumble topping. Rich fruitcake sweetness, autumnal spice and a whisper of fresh ginger, brown sugar, sultanas, and a hint of orange.

Palate

Mouth-warming black pepper opens the palate, revealing dark chocolate and ripe forest fruits. Subtle sweetness from brown sugar and sultanas weaves through, with a bright whisper of orange and a hint of ginger—ending in warming spice and a refined, lingering complexity.

Finish

Medium-bodied finish, with gentle almond and subtle tobacco.

Balmenach
(bal-MEN-ach) Balmenach was licensed in 1824 by James MacGregor at Balminoch Farm, near Cromdale in Speyside, making it one of the older licensed distilleries in the region. The site later passed to Glenlivet Distillers in 1897 and became part of DCL in the 1920s, with much of its production used for blended Scotch rather than official single malt bottlings.
