Distilled at Bruichladdich in 1990, this single malt was allowed to mature for 30 years before being bottled in 2021. Only 228 bottles were produced, all of which were drawn from a single refill sherry hogshead.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Deep amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones, a warm sunset-bronze glow.

Nose

Stewed dates mingle with fragrant orange zest, while subtle ginger notes lend a warm, inviting spice.

Palate

Sweet baked apples open the palate, paired with almondy marzipan and morello cherries; a gentle sherry sweetness threads through, leaving a warm, softly oaked finish.

Finish

A refined, medium-length finish of toasted oak, its warmth lingering with quiet elegance.

Bruichladdich
(brook-LADDIE) Bruichladdich distillery is the home of four different malts: the unpeated Bruichladdich, the heavily peated Port Charlotte, the even more peated (and rarely seen) Lochindaal and the super heavily peated Octomore. The distillery was built in 1881 by the Harvey Brothers and at the time it was viewed as a very modern establishment.  It is situated in The Rhinns, in the west of the island, overlooking Loch Indaal. It ran under a succession of different owners including Whyte and Mackay and Murray McDavid before being purchased by Remy Cointreau in 2012.
