Bruichladdich 25th Anniversary Old Skool Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 10 Year Old
In stock
Old Skool is the first release from Bruichladdich Distillery this year, marking 25 years since the distillery reopened. When its founders reopened the distillery in 2001, they set out to carve a more authentic, progressive and transparent vision for the whisky industry. They believed in terroir, championing flavour and harnessing whisky’s raw ingredients — all while ensuring Islay and the local island community remained at the heart of every decision.
Distilled using 100% Islay barley, Bruichladdich Old Skool is a tribute to this unwavering commitment. Bruichladdich has worked directly with local growers for over two decades to grow and harvest malting barley on Islay. Beyond delivering exceptional flavour, provenance and traceability, working with local farmers helps support the island’s agricultural community and adds value beyond the distillery gates.
This commemorative 10-year-old single malt Scotch whisky is a true celebration of its island home. Bottled at 50% ABV, primarily bourbon cask matured with a small parcel of first-fill Sauternes casks, it showcases Bruichladdich spirit at its very best.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich sunset amber with honey-gold highlights and coppery glints.
Nose
Bright and creamy, opening with vanilla, honey and orchard fruit—peach, apricot, pear—lifted by citrus zest. A whisper of Sauternes lends a glaze of tropical sweetness, while sea-salt and light barley echo the Islay coast. Bourbon-cask vanilla, with almond and oak, grounds the bouquet in refined warmth, revealing coastal depth without heaviness.
Palate
Silky and creamy, the palate opens with honeyed apricot and vanilla from bourbon casks, lifted by a touch of Sauternes sweetness, with citrus zest and almond. A delicate maritime salt breeze tempers the sweetness, while restrained oak-spice carries through to a long, elegant finish.
Finish
Subtle peat smoke and maritime salinity give way to honeyed Sauternes sweetness—apricot and fig—woven with vanilla and oak. The finish is long and velvety, with warm spice and a final whisper of smoke that lingers.
