Bruichladdich Greener Still is a 15-year-old Islay single malt created from a combination of Bere, Biodynamic and Organic barley, with each variety contributing its own character to the whisky. The result is an expressive, unpeated style with soft floral notes on the nose, followed by ripe orchard fruit, honeyed sweetness and gentle coastal freshness.
Matured entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels and kept at the distillery on Islay throughout its full 15 years, Greener Still develops a smooth, velvety texture with layers of vanilla, fruit and subtle oak. The release reflects Bruichladdich’s continued focus on environmentally conscious farming and distilling, bringing together provenance, flavour and a more thoughtful approach to whisky production.
Greener Still also joins Bruichladdich’s iconic Still Series, known for its striking opaque, colour-coded bottles and originally released between 2006 and 2008 to showcase the distillery’s experimental approach to maturation. While those earlier releases focused on the influence of cask type, Greener Still shifts the emphasis from cask to field, celebrating the impact of greener growing practices and the barley itself.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Bright golden-amber with a sunlit honey-hued glow.
Nose
Sweet malt and fresh orchard fruit rise with honeyed pears, vanilla cream and a hint of almond. Lemon zest brightens a creamy grain core, while faint coastal brine and iodine lend a marine whisper. A delicate kiss of smoke threads through, supported by subtle oak spice and a mineral, polished finish.
Palate
Silky and generously textured, it unfolds honeyed barley, orange zest and vanilla into a coastal chorus of sea-salt, green apple and a gentle peat kiss. Toasted almond and subtle spice deepen the mouthfeel, finishing long with warm smoke and brine that linger.
Finish
Long, maritime finish with coastal brine, honeyed vanilla and toasted oak. A bright citrus lift lingers, followed by a gentle peppery warmth that slowly fades to a refined, silky tail.
