Tasting Notes

Colour

Golden amber with a warm copper glow and delicate mahogany edges.

Nose

Bright red fruit—raspberry, cherry, blackberry—dances with creamy vanilla and cocoa, lifted by a marine saltiness. Gentle peat whispers weave through polished oak and wine-kissed spice.

Palate

Silky, full-bodied on the palate, delivering red-berry depth—blackberry and cherry compote—interlaced with vanilla, toffee and toasted oak. Spices of clove and white pepper emerge, supported by a maritime whisper of salt. The wine cask lends a composed sweetness, while gentle tannins and cocoa notes carry through a warm, lingering finish.

Finish

Long, wine-kissed finish with red berry sweetness and supple spice giving way to a saline, maritime pull. Rich vanilla and cocoa linger beside delicate tannins, tapering to a refined, peppery warmth as the last echoes fade.

Bruichladdich
(brook-LADDIE) Bruichladdich distillery is the home of four different malts: the unpeated Bruichladdich, the heavily peated Port Charlotte, the even more peated (and rarely seen) Lochindaal and the super heavily peated Octomore. The distillery was built in 1881 by the Harvey Brothers and at the time it was viewed as a very modern establishment.  It is situated in The Rhinns, in the west of the island, overlooking Loch Indaal. It ran under a succession of different owners including Whyte and Mackay and Murray McDavid before being purchased by Remy Cointreau in 2012.
