The 2011 Organic is a stunning example of the wonderful clarity of flavour we see from organically grown barley, especially when distilled slowly in the tall narrow necked stills of Bruichladdich. The delicate floral spirit is matured in classic American oak; a perfect match bringing a wonderful combination of creamy and citrus notes.

Nose

Crème brûlée with cantaloupe melon, brightened by water mint and lemon rind, resting on mellow oak—a creamy, citrus-kissed nose with quiet oak elegance.

Palate

Toasted oak, barley flour, honey, vanilla fudge, ripe pear and melon.

Finish

Golden syrup, warm sand, sea breeze, nutmeg and coconut.

Bruichladdich
(brook-LADDIE) Bruichladdich distillery is the home of four different malts: the unpeated Bruichladdich, the heavily peated Port Charlotte, the even more peated (and rarely seen) Lochindaal and the super heavily peated Octomore. The distillery was built in 1881 by the Harvey Brothers and at the time it was viewed as a very modern establishment.  It is situated in The Rhinns, in the west of the island, overlooking Loch Indaal. It ran under a succession of different owners including Whyte and Mackay and Murray McDavid before being purchased by Remy Cointreau in 2012.
