Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery highlights and a warm, mahogany-tinged glow.
Nose
Powerful vanilla and toffee rise from virgin oak, edged with clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. Bright citrus zest threads through the oak, while a subtle coastal breeze lends a whisper of salt. At cask strength, the aroma is bold, warm, and inviting, hinting at the whisky’s depth to come.
Palate
Powerful and spicy, this cask-strength Bruichladdich delivers virgin-oak intensity on the palate: black pepper, cinnamon, and clove layered with vanilla and toasted oak. Bright citrus and orchard fruit emerge mid-palate, then melt into a lush, creamy texture. The heat remains plush and enveloping, finishing with resinous spice, oak depth, and a lingering coastal tang.
Finish
Long, warming finish of bold spice and vanilla from virgin oak. Ginger and clove unfold slowly, interlaced with resinous oak and a touch of char. A delicate sea-salt whisper lingers, leaving a sophisticated warmth and a softly smoky, maritime finish.
