Bruichladdich Black Art 10.1 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 29 Year Old
In stock
An enigmatic alchemy which relies on nature, craftsmanship and the quiet passing of time, what happens inside each cask under cover of darkness in the depths of the warehouse remains a mystery. Black Art 10 is a testament to this elusive mastery.
Using artisanal techniques passed down from one generation to the next; the spirit is pulled exclusively from Bruichladdich distillery pre-renaissance casks which have been patiently maturing on our island home for almost three decades. The finite single malt is created in secret by our head distiller, Adam Hannett, with the recipe only known to him.
Putting our trust in Adam, he is given creative freedom to bring this incredible whisky to life. Using pre-renaissance Bruichladdich stock, Black Art 10 is unique and unrepeatable.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber with copper-gold highlights and mahogany edges.
Nose
Enigmatic and dark, the nose unfolds in layers: cocoa and sun-dried fig weave with raisin and treacle, while tobacco and leather lend vintage depth. Sherry sweetness glows at the core, cushioned by orange zest, spice, and soft oak. A whisper of maritime brine and espresso threads through, hinting at Islay evenings and a mystery that lingers long after the first inhale.
Palate
Silky, opulent on the palate, with dark chocolate and pruned fruit—fig and date—woven through a sherried, toasted core. Rich cacao, espresso and orange zest mingle with polished oak, while leather and tobacco emerge. Velvet texture, refined warmth at 45.1%, and a long, lingering finish of spice, cocoa and a whisper of sea salt.
Finish
Long and luxurious, the finish glides from dark chocolate and dried fig to espresso and toasted oak. Spiced fruit lingers, with hints of leather and tobacco, softly tempered by a whisper of coastal brine. A warm, velvet fade that persists with refined sherry-influenced richness, slowly dissolving into the palate.
