Dense copper-amber with mahogany undertones and a glossy burnt-caramel glow.

Nose

Opulent sherry perfume, a flood of dried figs, raisins and prunes with orange zest peeking through. Dark chocolate and toffee ribbon the aroma, while spiced notes of cinnamon and clove weave with rich oak. A whisper of date and velvet sweetness lingers, inviting the senses deeper into the dram.

Palate

Opulent and velvety on the palate, this Macallan reveals rich sherry depth. Dried fig and raisin, orange zest, and dark chocolate mingle with toffee as praline and spice—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—sweep through satin oak. Full-bodied at cask strength, it finishes long and warming, with lingering fruit, spice and a touch of tobacco-leather.

Long, luxurious finish of fig and raisin, orange zest and dark chocolate, braided with rich sherry spice—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg. Velvety oak supports a lingering warmth, fading into soft leather and cocoa with a refined, lingering sweetness.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
