The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old forms part of the Sherry Oak range, which features a series of Single Malt whiskies matured exclusively in hand-picked Sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity.

A full bodied palate of mature oak, ginger and raisin flavours are complimented by a light mahogany natural colour.

Colour

Light mahogany, a natural, warm glow.

Nose

Treacle tart with stem ginger, soaked raisins and sultanas, and a bright touch of orange zest with ground cinnamon. The sherry influence shines through, a warm, spiced sweetness balanced by subtle oak.

Palate

Soft and lush, notes of dark chocolate-coated ginger mingle with dates and dried apricots, carried by oak and a gentle vanilla sweetness.

Finish

A long, refined finish that lingers with dried fruits, ginger and oak, a warm echo of Sherry Oak richness.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
