The Macallan Colour Collection 21 Years Old celebrates the brand's commitment to natural colour and sherry seasoning.

Aged in oak casks seasoned with sherry from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, this whisky boasts flavours of tropical fruits, coffee, hazelnuts, and dark chocolate orange. Its natural warm bronze colour is the result of the exceptional oak casks and new make spirit maturing together, creating a beautifully crafted and rich whisky.

Colour

Natural warm bronze, with amber-gold depth and a coppery glow.

Nose

Sherry-seasoned nose of opulent warmth: tropical fruits mingle with roasted coffee, toasted hazelnuts and dark chocolate orange. Velvet oak spices weave through, yielding a refined, inviting bouquet that speaks to the 21-year maturation.

Palate

Silky and luxurious on the palate, sun-dashed tropical fruits and orange zest unfold, sharpened by espresso and dark chocolate. Hazelnut richness mingles with sherried sweetness through creamy oak, while subtle spice builds to a long, warm finish, leaving cocoa, dried fruit and refined oak tannins to linger.

Finish

Luxuriously long and sherried, this finish lingers with cocoa and dark chocolate orange, espresso, and toasted hazelnut, balanced by warm oak and a gentle spice that fades to a polished, fruit-kissed afterglow.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
