Deep amber with mahogany hues and a warm copper glow.

Nose

Creamy hazelnut and ripe sultana lead the bouquet, folded with warm oak; notes of sourdough bread with quince jam and a whisper of fennel seed add rustic sweetness and a delicate thread of spice.

Palate

Waves of dried fruit sweetness sweep the palate, brightened by sparks of ginger and tobacco. A plush, oaken spine lingers with hints of cocoa and citrus zest, delivering enduring depth.

Finish

An elegant, lingering finish where chocolate unfolds into a bright citrus peel note. The cocoa depth softly fades, leaving a refined, chocolate-kissed citrus glow that lingers long on the palate.

The Macallan
Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
