The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old forms part of Macallan's Sherry Oak Collection which features a series of single malt whiskies matured in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. A full bodied palate of mature oak, ginger and raisin flavours is complimented by a light mahogany natural colour.
For the first time ever the 2016 release of Macallan 18 year old has been bottled without a specific vintage. This really does highlight the pressure on cask stocks at the moment and we can only see the older 'vintage' 18 year old further increasing in value this year.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Light mahogany, a natural colour with a warm amber glow.
Nose
Opulent sherry-driven nose from Jerez cask aging: ripe raisin and fig mingle with orange zest, toffee and dark chocolate. Toasted oak, vanilla and a whisper of ginger spice (cinnamon, clove) weave through the aroma, finished by mahogany and antique wood notes.
Palate
Full-bodied and luxurious, with mature oak, ginger spice and lush raisin sweetness. The sherry cask influence adds depth, guiding a long, warm finish.
Finish
Long, velvety finish where sherry oak leaves a warming impression. Dried raisin and ginger ride atop rich oak and spice, with a subtle caramel sweetness that lingers before fading to a refined, persistent warmth.
