The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Years Old forms part of Macallan's Sherry Oak Collection which features a series of single malt whiskies matured in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. A full bodied palate of mature oak, ginger and raisin flavours is complimented by a light mahogany natural colour.
The latest Macallan 18 year old bottling for 2012, which as ever is still increasingly difficult to keep in stock.

Colour
Light mahogany with a warm, natural amber glow.
Nose
Sherry-seasoned oak dominates the aroma, releasing dark raisin and fig with a warm ginger glow. Toasted oak and mahogany caramel weave through the bouquet, with subtle spice unfolding to hint at the 18-year maturity.
Palate
Full-bodied palate of mature oak, ginger and raisin, balanced by rich sherry sweetness. Spiced warmth coats the tongue with caramelized fruit, evolving into a velvety texture and a long, elegant finish with subtle cocoa notes.
Finish
Long, velvet finish of warm oak and ginger spice, slowly yielding to raisin sweetness and sherry depth. The 18-year maturity leaves a dignified, mahogany-tinged echo of toasted wood and dark fruit that lingers gracefully on the palate.
