The Macallan Speymalt Single Malt Scotch Whisky 20 Year Old · 1994 Vintage
In stock
Gordon & MacPhail have been purveyors of fine goods across three centuries and, over many years, have built up and nurtured special relationships with local producers. Among these are several local whisky distilleries in the Speyside region from whom they purchase new-make spirit to be matured in their own oak casks.
However, there is only one distillery for which they reserve the title ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’.
Established in 1824 and situated overlooking the fishing beats on the River Spey, the Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit, which they then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered specifically for the ‘Speymalt from Macallan Distillery’ range.
Each bottling carries the vintage of distillation and the year of bottling, capturing an exceptionally mature single malt whisky.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Rich amber-gold with coppery glints and a hint of mahogany at the rim.
Nose
Rich, mahogany-hued nose of dried figs, raisins and orange zest, wrapped in cocoa, toffee and vanilla. Gentle spice—cinnamon and nutmeg—lifts the oak, with wisps of leather and tobacco adding old-Warehouse elegance.
Palate
On the palate, this Speymalt from Macallan unfolds with velvet depth and refined sweetness. Dried fig and raisin mingle with candied orange, espresso and dark chocolate. Rich toffee notes ride a sherried oak backbone, while cinnamon, nutmeg and clove spices weave through a polished, warming finish that lingers with ginger-kissed sweetness and a whisper of burnt sugar.
Finish
Long, elegant finish with orange zest and dark fruit tempered by toasted oak and vanilla. Subtle spices—cinnamon and clove—emerge, giving way to a refined note of chocolate and leather that lingers warmly.
