An unusual 10cl version of Ardmore from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Matured in a refilll Barrel for 10 years and bottled under the title 'Test Match in a Hospita'l, this a classic smoky and creamy Highland Malt that packs a punch with a bottling strength of 60.7% ABV!

Tasting Notes

Colour

Bright straw-gold with warm honey amber highlights and a subtle coppery glow.

Nose

Rich, smoky peat meets creamy vanilla and toffee, with cereal malt sweetness and a citrus lift. Hints of almond and baking spice drift through sun-warmed oak.

Palate

Powerful yet creamy on the palate, Ardmore delivers a generous veil of peat smoke folded into vanilla custard and waxy barley. Subtle oak from the refill cask adds warmth, while hints of brine and minerals sharpen the profile. Spicy pepper sweeps in through the mid-palate, leaving a long, warming finish that belies the dram’s 60.7% ABV.

Finish

Long, smoky finish with creamy vanilla and toasted oak, a whisper of peat lingering on the lips. Peppery warmth persists, tapering to a resinous, sweet-smoked aftermath that slowly fades into a silky, lingering glow.

Ardmore
(ARD-moor) Ardmore was founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher to supply peated malt for Teacher’s blends, and it remains one of the more distinctive Highland distilleries for that reason. While peat is more commonly associated with Islay, Ardmore built its name on a smokier Highland style, combining earthy peat, gentle spice and a slightly dry, robust character. The distillery is based at Kennethmont and is now part of Suntory Global Spirits.
