Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep burnished amber with coppery highlights and mahogany undertones, radiating a stately antique glow.
Nose
Peat smoke and maritime brine rise from the glass, edged with iodine and medicinal depth. Sherry-finished fruit—fig, raisin, date—coats dark oak, vanilla and toffee, while leather and tobacco provide a confident, aged spine. Subtle cocoa and espresso lend a refined, lingering finish to this monumental Islay.
Palate
Silky, full-bodied and richly oily, this Islay dram coats the palate with pristine peat tempered by dark sherry sweetness. Notes of fig and raisin, cocoa and espresso braid with sea-salt, iodine and a subtle medicinal tang. Leather and resin provide a backbone as the finish extends—smoke, mineral salt and warming spice.
Finish
An expansive, coastal finish of peat smoke that glides over iodine and sea-salt notes, fading into dark chocolate, dried fruit and spice. Velvet oak and a touch of orange zest linger, warming the palate with long, resinous sweetness and a refined, enduring hush.
