The Founders Reserve range from the Annandale distillery is focused on the flavour diversity imparted by the cask. This particular dram was matured in Cask 358 - an ex-French Burgundy cask which was shaved, toasted and recharred. This produces a dram with notes of tobacco smoke, smoky bacon and hints of coconut, sweet almond cherry Bakewell, creamy vanilla and fresh peach.

Colour
Coppery amber with ruby undertones and a warm sunset glow.
Nose
Tobacco smoke and smoky bacon form a rich core, with coconut and almond lending sweetness. Cherry Bakewell hints, creamy vanilla, and ripe peach brighten the nose, while subtle toasty, cask-driven warmth from the shaved, toasted, recharred Burgundy finish lingers.
Palate
Silky, medium-bodied with tobacco smoke and smoky bacon at the fore, lifted by coconut cream and toasted almond. Cherry Bakewell, creamy vanilla and juicy peach unwind across the palate, leaving a fruit-forward sweetness that coats the tongue, finishing with gentle oak and a warm, lingering smoke.
Finish
Long, tobacco-smoked and smoky-bacon notes linger, fading into creamy vanilla, coconut and ripe peach, with a delicate almond Bakewell sweetness rounding out the finish.
