The cask was originally an American oak hogshead seasoned with Oloroso sherry. In 2019, it was deemed that this cask was at risk of becoming over mature so the whisky was re-racked into refill Hogsheads. These refill casks have slowed the maturation process down nicely to produce an exquisite 5 year old bottling.

Tasting Notes
Colour
Deep amber-gold with warm copper highlights and a subtle mahogany edge.
Nose
Caramelising brown sugar gives way to dried dates and raisins, with festive Christmas cake notes and creamy sweet vanilla, punctuated by salted caramel.
Palate
Nutty hints of hazel and walnut unfold into a spicy, tongue-coating mouthfeel, finishing in rich caramel.
Finish
Spicy, tongue-coating warmth gives way to a long caramel finish, with lingering hazelnut and walnut echoes and a touch of salted toffee.
